As you gather with family and friends, we hope your day is filled with laughter, good food, and lasting memories. If fireworks are part of your celebration, please remember that not everyone experiences them the same way. For many veterans living with the invisible wounds of war, unexpected explosions can trigger difficult memories. Our pets and local wildlife can also become frightened and disoriented by the noise. A little extra kindness can make a big difference: 🫶 Give your neighbors a heads-up before setting off fireworks. 🐾 Keep pets safely indoors with identification tags up to date. 💙 Extend grace and understanding to those who may be struggling today. As we celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday, let’s honor the freedoms we cherish by showing compassion for those who have sacrificed so much to protect them.
